My cell phone has a personality. There are times when it decides not to function properly. I have no idea why nor how this happens. Perhaps it feels neglected? How am I to show my appreciation to my cell phone, polish it or something? Maybe spray paint it in gold so it feels like it's blinging instead of ringing?
It hasn't happened a lot, but there were about seven times when the alarm clock on my cell phone just refused to go off. One out of those seven times happened to fall on a Sunday, when it was my shift to open the store. All I can recall was waking up by myself, not to the sound of my cell phone's alarm, to which I thought to myself,
Why did I just wake up by myself, and not to the sound of my cell phone's alarm?
A double-take at my radio clock showed that I was supposed to be at the store 9 minutes ago, and calamity ensued.

Coincidently, this was the morning after I signed up for World of Wacraft's free 10 day trial, wherein the previous night consisted of my playing until 2:30AM.
"So, you weren't able to wake up without an alarm clock to open at 10AM?" My boss asked, after I explained to him my electronical failure (the store opens at 10AM on Sundays).
Not keen on telling him what I had been doing the night prior, I gave him a very professional response:
"What I do during my leisure time is completely separate from work, and I have every right of privacy to retain whatever it is I do outside of work."
The boss looked at me, "Nice. You practiced that line a few times, didn't you?"
