Here's a list of some random paraphernalia I've accumulated and retained over the years:
  1. A bone-shaped pet tag for the family's first cat, Oscar, who passed away in 2008.
  2. My brother's captain insignia.
  3. A tiny clay sculpture of a penguin, complete with black and white tuxedo colors and orange beak, made by my friend.
  4. An old picture of my brother, taken while he was in college probably some 100 years ago. This I keep in my guitar case.
  5. A tech-deck fingerboard, also in my guitar case for whenever I get bored (still haven't played with it yet).
  6. A blue collar worn by Oscar. This I keep in my car.
The intuitive observer can make the following inferences about me: I'm a guy who will remember the first pet cat he ever had, has a cool brother who serves in the military and went to college some 100 years ago, and likes penguins.

...actually, I remember seeing an old anime series where this woman had a pet penguin. I always wondered if people could have penguins as pets and what it would be like to have one around. I think I'd name mine Alfred.
